MTN Uganda Celebrates 20 Years of Pastor Bugembe’s Music & Supports Gospel Artists

Kampala, Uganda — MTN Uganda has reaffirmed its commitment to nurturing the growth of Ugandan gospel music by sponsoring the upcoming 20th anniversary concert of renowned gospel artist Pastor Wilson Bugembe. The announcement was made during the launch event held at MTN Uganda Headquarters in Kampala on August 8th, 2025, at the Serena Hotel.

John Paul Okwi, MTN's Sponsorship and Events Manager, highlighted the company’s dedication to supporting local music talents as part of its corporate social responsibility. He called upon Ugandans and Christians to actively support gospel artists, urging them to buy caller tunes and attend concerts to boost the industry.

“Gospel music in Uganda has a large following, and supporting these artists is crucial in elevating the genre’s standard. MTN is proud to be part of this journey,” Okwi stated.

The event also marked the official support from MTN Uganda for Pastor Bugembe’s highly anticipated concert scheduled for August 8, 2025, at Serena Hotel. Tickets for the concert are available via MTN Mobile Money at UGX 120,000 to UGX 150,000, with tables costing UGX 3 million.

A Celebratory Milestone for Pastor Bugembe

Pastor Wilson Bugembe shared his inspiring journey over the past two decades, reflecting on how faith and perseverance have driven his success. He expressed gratitude to his fans for their unwavering support and urged all Ugandans, regardless of denomination, to come out in large numbers for the celebration.

“God has been at the center of my journey since 2005. I invite everyone to join us on this special day to celebrate 20 years of gospel music. Your support means everything,” said Pastor Bugembe.

Several other gospel artists at the event echoed Pastor Bugembe’s sentiments, emphasizing solidarity and calling on upcoming artists to continue the legacy.

Starting his music career in 2005, Pastor Bugembe gained widespread recognition with his debut album Yellow, and his hit song Njagala Kumanya became a favorite across Uganda’s radio and TV stations. His inspiring story continues to motivate many aspiring gospel musicians.
