St Andrew's Rwatukwiire COU Elevated To A Parish
Bishop Johnson Twinomujuni inaugurated St Andrew's Rwatukwiire COU Greater Bushenyi Archdeaconary to a Parish status and installed its Parish Vicar Rev Junior Atuhaire.
The Bishop Congratulated Christians and Church leadership for working hard to achieve a parish status.
He said, It is key for Christians to know why the Church exists, stressing that it's to make people know God, turn away from sin and prepare them for eternal life.
He thanked the New parish Vicar, previous curates that served at Rwatukwiire Church,Head of Laity, Christians and vision Bearers for a beautiful Church, vicar's house and other development plans they have for the church.
The installed Parish Vicar Rev. Junior Atuhaire, in her inaugural speech, thanked the Bishop for awarding Rwatukwiire COU a Parish status and for entrusting her with the responsibility of being it's first Parish Vicar.
She equally thanked the area Archdeacon Ven Rev Didas Natweta, the head of Laity and Christians for the support rendered to her that has led to this achievement.
Rev Junior also highlighted a number of developments across the parish that include; Spreading the gospel, pastoral care, renovation of vicar's house, tittling the church land among others.
The Head of Laity Mr Twinomugisha Ronald, thanked the Bishop for his guidance and support towards elevating their Church to a parish level. He also thanked the area Archdeacon, clergy and the family of the late George Bangonzya for their support and vision to develop Rwatukwiire Parish.
Area MP Hon Annet Mugisha thanked the Bishop, the area Archdeacon, priests and Christians for preaching the gospel of work, spearheading the development of Bushenyi Ishaka Municipality, and the surrounding districts.
She used the opportunity to thank parents, pupils, teachers and leaders for the excellent performance in the recently released PLE results that saw Bushenyi Ishaka Municipality take the lead in the country.
In attendance were; the Diocesan Secretary Rev Joseph Mweyungye, the Sub-Dean the Very Rev John Makuru, some Archdeacons, Clergy, Mayor Bushenyi Ishaka Municipality among others.
