Electricity Theft at Ovino Mall: Workers at Ovino Building Struggle Due To Very High Electricity Bills. New Council Elected Launches Operation to Arrest Electricity Thieves.

The leaders at Ovino building today convened for a heated meeting in which they discussed ways in which the excessive electricity theft and distortion can be put to an end. The leaders also say they have discovered what was causing unexplained hikes in their electricity bills even though the equipment they use at the building, which is said to consume electricity, is not much.

The leadership council elected last year has therefore resolved to involve government authorities to assist in curbing the culprits and restoring order around their place of work. COU Family TV’S Winnie Buyinza was there.

After the long-standing disputes at the building known as Ovino Mall in Kisenyi over issues like management fees, electricity, and many others. The leaders, together with workers, were earlier pressed into electing a new council to assist them in solving the problems they found at this building.

The leaders at this building also particularly discovered that the problem of high electricity bills was caused by some of their colleagues illegally connecting wires and supplying current to other buildings around.

On this matter, some of the leaders we spoke to had this to say:

He adds that this electricity issue does not stop at this building alone but at other buildings too, as they are being oppressed by the same.

The chairman of the mall asked government to intervene and help them with the big security problem they have at this building, which has brought harm

They asked the authorities and the leaders concerned to help solve these matters.
