Garbage Dump Causing Stench in Bukasa Village Removed: Ugandans Encouraged to Separate Waste into Bio and Non-Biodegradable. Warned Against Dumping Garbage Anywhere They Find
KCCA, the body in charge of cleaning drainage channels and maintaining the city's standards today, visited the areas of Namuwongo Bukasa, where there has been a long-standing garbage issue, and officially launched the closure of the site. Officials carrying out the community cleanup exercise encouraged Ugandans not to litter garbage anywhere and to learn to separate biodegradable and non-biodegradable waste.
For years, the areas of Namuwongo and Bukasa have been facing the challenge of a terrible stench causing the area to remain below standard and lag behind on the economy. Residents recount what the experience has been like.
KCCA, the body in charge of maintaining the city to standard and organizing it, today went to the area to solve this issue in addition to KCCA training natives on how to separate biodegradable and non-biodegradable waste with stakeholders enlightening them that this could be a money-making venture.

She told them to learn to separate biodegradable and non-biodegradable waste because they can make useful things from it that can help them earn money.
The people of Bukasa were encouraged to keep the city clean and not to let garbage trouble them..
The mayor of this area has asked authorities to intervene in the matter.
