Masindi Kitara Diocese Holds Three-Day Youth and Students Conference: Youth Urged to Remain Anchored in Christ for Unity, Stability, And Peace. Church Leaders Challenge Youth to Embrace Faith
Hundreds of young people and students from St. James Katasenywa Parish under St. Mathews Deanery in Masindi Kitara Diocese have concluded a three-day youth and students conference with renewed calls for spiritual growth, unity, and faith in Christ amid growing social and personal challenges facing the youth today.
The three-day conference, which began on Friday and ended today at St. James Katasenywa Parish Church of Uganda, was held under the theme "Anchored in Christ for Unity, Stability, and Peace.” from Ephesians Chapter 2, verses 14 to 17
The Diocesan Secretary of Masindi Kitara Diocese, Rev. Canon Ronald Mukuru, who was the guest speaker, encouraged young people to remain firmly anchored in Christ despite the uncertainties and pressures of the modern world.
He reminded the youth that Christ’s love brings unity, His truth provides stability, and His peace gives strength to overcome life’s storms.
Rev. Canon Mukuru also challenged the youth to remain steadfast in faith just like David facing Goliath, saying God is able to fight their battles and help them overcome fear, temptation, and hopelessness.
The Vicar of St. Mathews Cathedral, Rev. Siira Irumba, called upon the youth to embrace transformation and align their lives with God’s purpose.
He emphasized the importance of changing mindset, perspective, and spiritual direction in order to live meaningful and purposeful lives.
The Deanery Chairperson for Women, Sylvia Majara, also addressed the conference with a message focused on spiritually empowering young people and guiding them toward responsible Christian living.
Some of the youth who attended the conference described the gathering as life-changing, saying it helped strengthen their faith, confidence, and understanding of Christian values.
