Agriculture Ministry launches Trypanosomiasis Control Council (UTCC) Resource Centre
Ministry of Agriculture, Animal Industry and Fisheries (MAAIF) has launched Uganda Trypanosomiasis Control Council (UTCC) Resource Center at the Njeru Live Stock Farm in a bid to fight against Trypanosomiasis in Uganda.
State Minister for Animal Industry Hon. Lt. Col (Rtd.) Bright Rwamirama also launched Tsetse fly trap production, which will be hosted at the established Centre.
MAAIF says the Tsetse Flytraps are being made by entrepreneurs trained through the (UTCC).
The traps will be used in surveillance to study the spread of Tsetse flies using statistics and also in the control of the flies as the traps contain insecticide.
