Amazing Excitement As Kasese Residents Await The Return Of Omusinga

Thousands today gathered in various trading centres of the entire Kasese district expressing their joy with Kikonzo cultural dance as they long to welcome the Omusinga back home tomorrow. The joyful residents noted that they can’t wait to see him back after all this long mostly due to the developmental strategies he had laid down for them.

This was revealed today when family TV visited and interacted with them in various parts of Kasese district especially Kasese municipality the host of the events but also where the King will be dwelling.

Residents of Kasese district are filled with joy after receiving news that their Omusinga, Charles Wesley Mumbere will return home seven years after being taken to prison on grounds of opposing the state. The residents couldn’t hide their joy as they shouted phrases and gave more insight into why they couldn’t wait to see him

Best Bakoko the vice chairperson of the Omusinga homecoming committee said that the king’s return is an opportunity for the entire kingdom to reconcile, promote peace and unity but also mindset change, hence ensuring social and economic development.

Nathaniel Walemba the chairperson Omusinga homecoming committee said that they have secured a temporary residential home where the king will be staying as they wait on the government to construct for him a palace on the 5 acres of land which it bought.

Nelson Tumushiime the Rwenzori east regional police spokesperson unveiled that the king would arrive at Kasese airfield at around 11 a.m. and thereafter be led to Kasese golf club to address his subjects.

He further added that a few people would be allowed to access the premises of Kasese airfield, especially members of the royal family and other earmarked delegates.

King Charles Wesley Mumbere and over 200 subjects were arrested and remanded at Kirinya government prison on 16th November 2016 over allegations of murders, terrorism and aggravated robbery but had charges dropped earlier this year granting him permission to access Kasese again.
