Amusi College Female’s Football Team Secures Bronze From CECAFA
After winning bronze at the 2023 CAF Pan Africa Schools Football Championship (CECAFA Zone), Amus College School Bukedea delegation has safely returned home.
The School edged Rwanda’s Kiramuzi MS 1-0 in the third place play-off at the Azam sports complex, Chamazi in Dar-es-salaam city, Tanzania.
Uganda’s representative in the CAFPAN African schools’ championship CECAFA Zonal qualifiers Amusi College under 15 girls team have already set foot on the soils of the Pearl of Africa
The U15 girls team finished 3rd at the inaugural CAF pan African schools championship tournament that was held in Tanzania.
Addressing the media Jovani Magino the head coach of Amus College, says despite the many challenges faced, the girls exhibited a good performance.
The head teacher Amus College, Richard Olupoti says they are determined to empower the girl child in all aspects.
The games and sports teacher at Amus College, Opio Kaluvine appreciated the school management for the support given to the girls. He also appreciated the coaching staff for their effort in securing the best results.
The team captain Emilly Nabuzale says the tournament gave them an experience with many lessons.
The school’s exodus to the tournament started at the FUFA technical center where they emerged the champions after winning against Standard High School.
