Ankole Christians Urged To Fight Homosexuality
Christians in the Ankole diocese have been asked to help fight anti-social activities, such as homosexuality and lesbianism in the society
The call was made by the Rt.Rev.Dr.Fred Sheldon Mwesigwa the bishop of the Ankole diocese while delivered an easter message to hundreds of Christians who attended easter prayers at St.James Cathedral-Ruharo the headquarters of the Ankole diocese.
Bishop Sheldon Mwesigwa also urged parents to look out for people who are recruiting their children to propagate immorality including in schools. He hailed the parliament of Uganda for its firm position in fighting immoral acts that are eating up the society.
While delivering an easter message to hundreds of Christians who attended easter prayers at St.James Cathedral-Ruharo, Bishop Mwesigwa noted that it is the responsibility of all Christians to fight things that Christ abhors. He informed them that acts of homosexuality have penetrated communities including schools and religious institutions and called for combined efforts to fight it.
At St.James Cathedral- service was led by the Very Rev.Canon Nathan Bobs Mwesigye- the new dean of St.James Cathedral who challenged Christians to renew their faith in Jesus during this Easter period saying that he will answer and solve all their challenges including poverty.
At Uganda Martyrs- Fr. Didas Kasapuri- the parish priest who urged Christians to love and forgive each other and above all to live together in unity. Kasapuri also urged them to always thank God for all he has done for them and for giving them a good life.
Easter is one of the principal holidays of Christianity. It marks the resurrection of Jesus three days after his death by crucifixion. For many Christian churches, Easter is the joyful end to the Lenten season of fasting and penitence.
