Ankole Diocese ordains 38 Canons and Deacons

The Bishop of Ankole Diocese Rt. Rev. Dr. Fred Sheldon Mwesigwa installed 10 canons and 23 deacons while 5 were priested on Sunday. 

The event which was described as a big harvest for the diocese was also witnessed by government officials including The Minister for Karamoja Gorrete Kututu.

Addressing the congregation, Bishop Sheldon asked the ordinated priests and canons to up their education qualifications to suite provincial requirements.

In her speech, Minister Kitutu who congratulated ordains urged mothers Union leaders to use their positions to empower women to carry on their role of supporting their husbands, respect them and look after their families.

Speaking to COU Family TV, the ordains hailed Ankole diocese for giving them another chance to serve Church of Uganda and promised to deliver quality service to Christians.
