Archbishop Kaziimba Announces Passing Of His Father
The Archbishop of the Church of Uganda, The Most Rev. Dr Samuel Stephen Kaziimba Mugalu, has announced the passing of his father, Mzee Besweri Kaddu, who died today at the age of 92.
The Archbishop has called on the faithful and the public to join the family in prayer as preparations for the funeral services and burial get underway.
In an official communication, Archbishop Samuel Stephen Kaziimba Mugalu informed the Christian community of the passing of his father, Mzee Besweri Kaddu, who has been described as a devoted servant of God.
Mzee Kaddu, born on August 1st, 1933, passed on April 14th, 2026, with the family expressing gratitude to God for his long life.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, April 16th, 2026, at All Saints’ Cathedral, Nakasero in Kampala, starting at 10:00 AM and ending at 12:30 PM. Later that evening, a vigil will be held at Gulama Najja in Buikwe District, beginning at 6:00 PM.
The burial is scheduled for Friday, April 17th, 2026, with a funeral service at 12:00 PM in Gulama Najja, Buikwe District.
The Archbishop has called upon believers, clergy, and well-wishers to keep the family in prayer during this period of mourning.
As tributes begin to pour in, Mzee Besweri Kaddu is remembered for a life well lived, leaving behind a legacy of faith and family.
