Archbishop Kaziimba Commends South Ankole Diocese For Holistic Ministry: Archbishop Urges Christians To Embrace Unity As A Catalyst For Development.South Ankole Diocese Praised For Evangelism

The Archbishop of the Church of Uganda, The Most Rev. Dr. Stephen Samuel Kaziimba Mugalu, has commended South Ankole Diocese for demonstrating how the Church can transform communities through evangelism, education, healthcare, and economic empowerment. During his pastoral and farewell visit to St. Matthew's Cathedral Kyamate in Ntungamo District, the archbishop urged Christians to remain united, saying lasting development can only be achieved when people work together in Christ.

During his pastoral and farewell visit to St. Matthew's Cathedral, Kyamate, the Archbishop of the Church of Uganda, The Most Rev. Dr. Stephen Samuel Kaziimba Mugalu, thanked God for the remarkable progress registered under the leadership of the Bishop of South Ankole Diocese, The Rt. Rev. Nathan Ahimbisibwe.

Preaching under the theme "Unity in Christ for Development," drawn from Ephesians 4:13–16, Archbishop Kaziimba reminded Christians that genuine development begins with unity.

Reflecting on Apostle Paul's message to the early Church, he said divisions weaken institutions and communities, while unity creates an environment where people can collectively achieve greater social, economic, and spiritual progress.

The archbishop further urged Christians to embrace teamwork, humility, and self-control, noting that successful communities are built by people who resolve differences peacefully and pursue common goals.

Archbishop Kaziimba also called upon Christians never to underestimate their God-given gifts, stressing that every believer, including persons with disabilities, has a unique contribution to make towards the growth of both the Church and the nation.

The Bishop of South Ankole Diocese, the Rt. Rev. Nathan Ahimbisibwe, thanked Christians for their unwavering commitment to diocesan programs, particularly the coffee-growing initiative that has improved household incomes while supporting church development projects.

The Deputy Head of Laity in South Ankole Diocese, Professor John Mugisha, applauded Archbishop Kaziimba for his visionary leadership, describing his tenure as one marked by resilience, innovation, and faith, particularly during the COVID-19 pandemic when the Church embraced new approaches to ministry while remaining united.

Christians who attended the service described the archbishop's farewell visit as both inspiring and spiritually uplifting, pledging to continue supporting the diocese's mission of evangelism and community transformation.

As Archbishop Kaziimba continues his farewell visits across the Church of Uganda's dioceses ahead of the end of his episcopal ministry, his message remains consistent: a united Church is better positioned to transform lives, strengthen families, and contribute meaningfully to Uganda's national development.
