
Archbishop Kaziimba Says It’s Time To Work
The Archbishop of the Church of Uganda, the most Rev. Dr. Samuel Stephen Kazimba-Mugalu has asked the people of Gulu City to purpose their work in God for a smooth transformation and holistic development.
The Archbishop, who is currently on a pastoral visit to the Diocese of Northern Uganda, gave the counsel while commissioning the Jubilee House in Gulu City. He also Gulu visited University to check on the works to construct St. Paul's Chapel.
Arans Tabaruka is on the Archbishop’s trail and filed this report.The Archbishop of the Church of Uganda, the Most Rev. Dr. Samuel Stephen Kazimba-Mugalu is continuing with his pastoral visit to the Diocese of Northern Uganda.
On his third day, Archbishop Kaziimba visited Gulu University to pray and engrain his message of transformation.
Before invoking words of comfort to a congregation at St. Paul's Chapel in Gulu University, the Vice Chancellor appraised the team on what is being done to complete St. Paul's Chapel.
The Archbishop said education, combined with spiritual nourishment, plays a crucial role in the holistic nurturing of responsible people.
He pledged and committed to support the efforts of the University in social transformation and the work being done, saying his name is a reflection and translation to mean a builder.
The Archbishop later commissioned the Jubilee House in Gulu City that is facilitating the Acholi Branch of the Bible Society of Uganda, and helps to ensure Christian literature is preserved.
The Bishop of the Diocese of Northern Uganda, Rt. Rev. Godfrey Loum is optimistic that infrastructures such as the Jubilee House will help serve the community but also support the retired clergy to improve their incomes.
He appreciated the visionary leadership of his predecessor, retired Bishop Emeritus Johnson Gakumba and Mama Christine for starting sustainable projects in the Diocese of Northern Uganda.
The Archbishop appealed to the clergy to maintain the teamwork and called upon the people to commit to the message of repentance and development.
The Archbishop today visit the Northern Uganda Diocese headquarters and led a service at St. Phillips Cathedral, in Gulu City. He will lead a service tomorrow at St. James COU Lalogi at 10am.
