The Archbishop of the Church of Uganda, the Most Rev. Dr. Stephen Samuel Kaziimba Mugalu, has urged Christians to remain firmly rooted in Christ, warning against placing their hope in worldly possessions and false teachings. The archbishop made the call during his farewell pastoral visit to North Ankole Diocese at Emmanuel Cathedral, where he also launched the diocese's five-year strategic plan and commissioned the diocese staff quarters.

Hundreds of Christians gathered at Emmanuel Cathedral to bid farewell to the archbishop of the Church of Uganda, the Most Rev. Dr. Stephen Samuel Kaziimba Mugalu, during his pastoral visit to the North Ankole Diocese.

Preaching from Colossians 2:6–7 under the theme "Being Rooted in Christ Through Faith," Archbishop Kaziimba explained that the Apostle Paul wrote to the Church in Colossae after some believers had begun following heretical teachings that threatened their faith.

He urged Christians to remain firmly anchored in Jesus Christ, saying that those who are rooted in Christ are able to withstand every storm, resist deception, and remain faithful despite the many challenges of life.

The archbishop cautioned believers against seeking salvation through worldly things, emphasizing that true salvation is found only in knowing Jesus Christ, the King of Kings.

Archbishop Kaziimba also called for unity among Ugandans, saying differences in political affiliation, football clubs, or social backgrounds should never divide Christians.

The Bishop of North Ankole Diocese, the Rt. Rev. Alfred Muhoozi, thanked Archbishop Kaziimba for his visionary leadership, describing his tenure as one that strengthened unity within the Church of Uganda and expanded the global reach of the Gospel.

During the visit, Archbishop Kaziimba officially launched the North Ankole Diocese Five-Year Strategic Plan, commissioned and dedicated the North Ankole Diocese Staff Quarters Building, and planted a commemorative tree as a symbol of growth, faith, and the Diocese's commitment to future generations. The Archbishop's farewell visit marked another milestone in strengthening the mission of the Church in North Ankole, with renewed calls for faith, unity, and sustainable development within the Diocese.
