Avoid Unclear Relationships And Focus On Studies – Archbishop To Pupils
Luke Alinaitwe
The Archbishop of the Church of Uganda the most reverend Dr Stephen Kazimba has advised the youth to be very deliberate about their faith and relationship with God and to avoid relationships with people whose intentions are unclear. The archbishop also confirmed over 60 students into the Anglican faith while on his first visit to Kabojja Junior School in Kampala.
Kabojja Junior is founded under the Muslim faith but considers all denominations and the headteacher applauded the director of the school for creating such an environment for worship. The Archbishop encouraged the young ones to persist in life and focus on their studies to have a better future.
Excitement was visibly high at Kabojja junior school as they welcomed His Grace, The Archbishop of the Church of Uganda the most reverend Dr Stephen Kazimba. It was his first time visiting the school and on arrival, He was taken around the school before heading to the main gathering to confirm over 60 confirmands who are pupils in the school
In his sermon, His Grace encouraged the young ones to always endure and persist in pressure in studies for them to be great citizens in future.
His Grace also urged the young ones to walk with God noting that these days are evil. He called upon them to be extra cautious in society and mind who they associate with to protect themselves from the world’s misfortunes.
In attendance was the Kampala Diocesan Secretary Rev Canon John Awodi who in his address appealed to the gathering to be ambassadors of environmental protection. This was followed by tree planting at the school in response to the call.
The Headteacher of Kabojja Junior School Edward Peter Basembeza urged pupils to remain firm in their faith. He also called upon the parents to continue supporting these children so as to strengthen their faith while at the infant stage.
The pupils before confirmation went through several lessons and their teacher, Ms Deborah encouraged the parents to adopt the spirit of taking their children to church regularly to eradicate ignorance among them.
The confirmands through a representative expressed their gratitude to the Archbishop and also narrated how confirmation classes have benefited them.
