Bishop Banja Urges Full Understanding Of Christ During St Peter's Day Celebrations
LUKE ALINAITWE
Yesterday marked a historic moment at St Luke COU Kazo Archdeaconry, as hundreds of Fathers Union members from Namirembe Diocese gathered to celebrate St Peter's Day.
This day, observed annually on June 29th in the Christian faith, commemorates the martyrdom of Saint Peter.
The event was honoured by the presence of The Rt Rev Moses Banja, Bishop of Namirembe Diocese, who, in his message, urged the Fathers to fully understand Christ in all His aspects.
Under the Christian faith annually, 29th June was declared as St Peter's Day in commemoration of the Martyrdom Peter the disciple of Jesus suffered.
Today at St Luke COU Kazo Archdeaconry, Members of the Father's Union from Namirembe Diocese gathered together to celebrate this day.
The event was graced by the attendance of The Rt Rev Moses Banja, who urged Christians, particularly men, to deepen their understanding of Christ.
The Bishop urged men to always provide for their wives whenever they ask for something. In the same spirit, the Bishop says women can do the same.
He urged Christians to embrace Jesus in their hearts, as this will bring simplicity to their lives.
The day's agenda included various activities, including awarding Certificates to couples who have reached the milestone of 50 years of marriage. Among the highlights was the celebration of Mr. and Mrs. Erizmas Kimbowa's 65th anniversary. During this momentous occasion, the Bishop encouraged all married couples to emulate the Kimbowas' enduring commitment.
During the service, Venerable Emmanuel Sewanyana, the Archdeacon for Kazo Archdeaconry used the opportunity to call on well-wishers to support the construction of St Luke COU Kazo, which is under construction and is expected to be fully completed in November.
We got a chance to interact with the Fathers Union President Namirembe Diocese Wilber Naigamba who urged them to stay farm in their marriages in his message to Fathers Union members.
