Bishop Nathan Ahimbisibwe Launches ‘The Ladder Of Testimonies’ Trilogy:Archbishop Kaziimba Calls For A Stronger Reading Culture.Ugandans Urged To Support Local Authors And Preserve Knowledge
The Archbishop of the Church of Uganda, the Most Rev. Dr. Stephen Samuel Kaziimba Mugalu, has challenged Ugandans to cultivate a stronger reading culture and support local authors by purchasing and reading their books. He made the call while officiating at the launch of The Ladder of Testimonies: The Power Trilogy, authored by the Bishop of South Ankole Diocese, Rt. Rev. Nathan Ahimbisibwe.
Church leaders, academicians, clergy, and Christians from across the country gathered to witness the launch of The Ladder of Testimonies: The Power Trilogy, a publication authored by the Bishop of South Ankole Diocese, Rt. Rev. Nathan Ahimbisibwe.
The event also coincided with the bishop’s 60th birthday celebrations, marking both a literary and personal milestone in his life and ministry.
Presiding over the launch, the Archbishop of the Church of Uganda, the Most Rev. Dr. Stephen Samuel Kaziimba Mugalu, based his message on Habakkuk Chapter Two, Verse Two, which encourages believers to write down their vision and make it plain.
The archbishop commended Bishop Ahimbisibwe for documenting his experiences, lessons, and faith journey, noting that writing preserves knowledge for future generations.
Archbishop Kaziimba challenged Ugandans to embrace a reading culture, observing that while many people are writing books, the country still struggles with a shortage of committed readers.
He urged Christians and the general public to support local authors by buying and reading their publications.
The archbishop further praised Bishop Ahimbisibwe for his mentorship of clergy and church leaders, as well as his commitment to creating learning opportunities that continue to benefit both the Church and society.
Speaking at the launch, Rt. Rev. Nathan Ahimbisibwe revealed that the writing journey began in 2013 and involved years of reflection, research, and documentation.
He explained that the trilogy draws from personal experiences, ministry lessons, leadership encounters, and testimonies that have shaped his life and service.
The bishop also shared excerpts from the books, including The Ladder of Testimonies, See Far, and the first volume of the trilogy, offering readers a glimpse into the themes of faith, leadership, productivity, and personal transformation.
Prof. Alex Bashasha described the books as inspiring and transformational, saying Bishop Ahimbisibwe’s writings had challenged him to embrace reading and inspired him to deepen his investment in coffee farming after learning from the bishop’s experiences.
Meanwhile, the vice chancellor of Bishop Stuart University, Prof. John Mugisha, delivered a presentation titled “The Nexus Between Faith and Productivity: Lessons from a Farming Bishop.”
He highlighted the connection between faith and hard work, using Bishop Ahimbisibwe’s life as an example of how spiritual leadership can be combined with economic productivity and community transformation.
The launch of The Ladder of Testimonies: The Power Trilogy not only celebrated Bishop Nathan Ahimbisibwe’s literary contribution but also renewed calls for Ugandans to embrace reading, support local authors, and preserve knowledge through writing for future generations.
