Bishop Onesimus Asiimwe Confirms 383 and Welcomes 7 into the Anglican Faith at All Saints Church, Rukungiri
A spirit-filled celebration unfolded at All Saints Church, Rukungiri, as the Rt. Rev. Bishop Onesimus Asiimwe confirmed 383 Christians and welcomed 7 new believers into the Anglican faith during a grand confirmation service.
The Bishop, accompanied by his wife Maama Florence Asiimwe and his ministry team, was warmly welcomed by a jubilant congregation led by Rev. Canon Elisha Waswa, Acting Archdeacon of Rujumbura Archdeaconry. The service drew thousands of faithful who gathered to witness this significant milestone in the lives of the confirmants.
Preaching under the theme "Hearing the Audible Voice of God" (Hebrews 3:7–8), Bishop Onesimus urged believers to remain attentive and obedient to the voice of God through the Holy Spirit, who speaks through dreams, visions, Scripture, and godly counsel. Drawing also from Psalm 95:8–9, he emphasized that the Lord leads His people, He creates the way, and charts paths we cannot yet see.
In a powerful message to families, the Bishop encouraged husbands and children to attentively listen to their wives, highlighting that God has uniquely gifted women with prophetic insight.
Meanwhile, Maama Florence Asiimwe inspired the newly confirmed to love what God loves and reject what He hates, referencing a line from the North Kigezi Diocesan anthem: "Tukund' ery' akunda twang' ebyo ebyayanga...". She further challenged all in attendance to personally acknowledge Jesus Christ as their Lord and Saviour.
The service culminated in a moving altar call, where over 200 individuals committed their lives to Christ, embracing the free gift of salvation. Songs and skits by the children’s church, All Saints Church choir and Christian Women Fellowship reflected on God’s continued faithfulness to the Diocese through the ministry of Bishop Onesimus and Maama Florence.
It was truly a day of celebration, spiritual renewal, and heavenly rejoicing — a day when, as many said, hell was depopulated and heaven rejoiced.
Other dignitaries who were present include; Rev. Frank Kiconco Bishop's Chaplain and Vicar Emmanuel Cathedral Kinyasano, Mr. Bron Kikanshemeza the RDC Rukungiri district, SP Mbusa Luka Police community Liaison officer for Rukungiri, Rev.
