Bishop Sheldon Challenges Education Ministry On Cheating Exams

The Bishop of Ankole Diocese Rt. Rev. Ass Prof. Fred Sheldon Mwesigwa has challenged the Ministry of Education and UNEB to emphasize the safeguard against cheating exams in schools

Bishop reported that there are many schools cheating exams for children and said if this is not stopped it is going to affect the future of the country.

Bishop Sheldon appealed while addressing parents who attended the dedication service of the 295 P.7 candidates of Mbarara Junior Primary School in Mbarara City.

While addressing the audience, Prof. Alex Nganwa who was the chief guest at the function and also an old boy at the same school, emphasized honesty and discipline as key pillars that will enable schools to produce useful citizens.

Nathan Mugume the head teacher of Mbarara Junior School and Ankole Diocese examination secretary, appealed to parents to keep a close eye on their children especially those going to sit for their final exams. He cautioned head teachers around the country to desist from practices of cheating for pupils.

Mbarara Junior was one of the best UPE schools last year they recorded a first-grade percentage pass of 81 and were recognized by the province of the church of Uganda because it was one of the lead schools under the Church of Uganda. The school is known for its zero tolerance to cheating policy.
