
Bishop Sheldon Hails Anglican And Catholic Church Collaboration
The bishop of Ankole diocese has cautioned students at Mary Hill High School and other schools to desist from engaging in examination malpractice.
Bishop Mwesigwa made the comment while delivering a sermon to students of Mary Hill High School in Mbarara City where he conducted a pastoral visit on Sunday.
During his pastoral visit at Mary Hill High School in Mabara City, the RT. Rev. Sheldon Mwesigwa bishop of Ankole Diocese told students that cheating on exams is not only a sin but also a lack of self-confidence. He advised them to read hard and use the knowledge acquired in class to aim for genuine results.
On his pastoral visit, Bishop Mwesigwa was accompanied by his wife Dr.Alice Mwesigwa, and his deputy dean St.James Cathedral Ruharo, Rev.Canon Bobs Mwesigwa.
Bishop Mwesigwa hailed good collaboration and unity between the Anglican Church and the Catholic Church. This was the first time an Anglican bishop conducted a pastoral ministry at Maryhill High School. He thanked Archbishop Lambert Bainemigisha for the good collaboration.
He also confirmed about 40 students and encouraged them to have good behaviors and stick to Christian values
In her message, Dr.Alice Mwesigwa urged students to be focused, and know what they want in life and urged them not to get diverted from God.
Sr.Sarah Tumuhimbise, the head teacher of Maryhill High School recognized the hard work of the staff in achieving holistic education.
She hailed Bishop Sheldon for commissioning students at Maryhill High School.
Mary Hill High School is a roman catholic girls’ old, national boarding school established in 1961 with the aim of promoting the education of girls child and building the nation. The school has since then grown and expanded, especially with the recent renovations from the government.
