Christians from Bukedi Diocese living in Kampala have been urged to embrace unity and spiritual togetherness, as church leaders outlined plans to strengthen ministry structures and expand outreach in response to the diocese’s growing population.

The Bukedi Diocese Kampala Chapter held its quarterly fellowship at All Saints Cathedral, bringing together clergy, diocesan leaders, and believers with roots in eastern Uganda.

The fellowship was graced by the Bishop of Bukedi Diocese, Samuel George Bogere Egesa, who served as the chief guest and main preacher. Delivering a sermon under the theme “Unity in Christ,” he called on Christians to emulate the early Church by fostering love, togetherness, and shared purpose in their faith journey.

The bishop also revealed that the diocese is considering a structural split to enhance effective ministry, noting that Bukedi currently comprises over 15 archdeaconries and more than 100 parishes, making administration and pastoral care increasingly demanding.

Meanwhile, the Diocesan Secretary introduced newly elected council members from the recent synod and rallied Christians to support the upcoming pastoral visit and farewell of the archbishop scheduled for August this year.

Clergy from All Saints Cathedral Kampala, including the Dean, joined the fellowship, emphasising the importance of spiritual gatherings in strengthening Christian unity and identity.

The Fellowship Coordinator encouraged members to remain committed to such engagements, noting that they play a critical role in nurturing faith, building networks, and sustaining a sense of belonging among Christians living away from their home diocese.

The Bukedi Diocese Kampala Fellowship is set to reconvene on August 2nd, as it continues its mission of uniting believers and advancing the message of unity in Christ.
