Business Slows Down A Day After Christmas

Business Slows Down A Day After Christmas

Kampala city which is usually characterized by congestion and traffic jam has been different since Christmas day.

With a big number of city dwellers travelling upcountry, many businesses are still closed and the streets are not as busy as they usually are.

However, there are some traders who are still making way to their shops. We walked around to see how their businesses are thriving.

We met Joachim Ssebunya who sells bags in Atlanta Shopping Mall in Kampala.

Joachim insists that the business has to continue running, otherwise, he will not be able to pay for expenses.

According to Kazadi Divine, a tailor with a shop in the same mall, there have been no new clients since Christmas.

At Nakasero market, a place which is usually congested is not different from other places. There are few traders, and the number of customers is also small.

With two days after Christmas, business in Kampala has slowed down, however, business men and women have exhibited resilience by running their business regardless of the situation in order to be able to cater for expenses in the coming year of 2023.
