C.O.U Warns Public To Disregard Erich Kasirye
The Church of Uganda would like to warn the public that a man by the name of Erich Kasirye is masquerading as the Anglican Chaplain of KCCA and uses that self-appointed title to publish false stories about the Church of Uganda.
The Church of Uganda would like to warn the public that a man by the name of Erich Kasirye is masquerading as the Anglican Chaplain of KCCA and uses that self-appointed title to publish false stories about the Church of Uganda.
As the Provincial Secretary of the Church of Uganda made it very clear that the Church of Uganda has never appointed a Chaplain to KCCA.
Rev. Canon Ongeng noted that the province made efforts to find out from KCCA if they have any chaplain on their staff in the name of Erich Kasirye and KCCA was very clear as they didn’t know anyone in that name
Erich Kasirye was originally ordained in Busoga Diocese and later transferred to Namirembe Diocese. Today, however, Namirembe Diocese no longer considers him to be a priest of the Diocese.
Kasirye has long been associated with the defrocked 2nd Bishop of West Buganda Diocese, Christopher Ssenyonjo, known for his active support of LGBTQ activities.
According to the document released by COU, Erich Kasirye has a long history of deception and lack of integrity. The Church of Uganda distances itself from anything he says or writes, and urges the public to not believe the lies he prints.
