Christians Urged To Lift Their Issues To God In Prayer
Celebrating the first Sunday of the month of August 2023, refreshing messages were preached at different churches where distinct preachers shared significant teachings derived from several themes and books in the bible including those advocating for prayer. Several believers gathered in large numbers to witness the mighty hand of grace and also present their issues to God.
Based on the topic, “Uniqueness of Our Warfare”, today’s preacher Rev. Eng. Dr. Emmanuel Mwesigwa, at Kakumba Chapel, Kyambogo University encouraged Christians to employ prayer as the main weapon to enable them to overcome different issues in life. He talked about spiritual warfare encouraging them that it is possible to overcome.
The preacher, Rev. Lydia Kitayimbwa at All Saints Cathedral, Kampala advised the congregation to desist from sin if they want to attain favor from God. She went on to urge them to cast all their fears unto God based on the theme, “The Mountain of God” guided the sermon as derived from the book of Hebrews 12:22-29.
Rev. Irene Akankwatsa who was the preacher at St. Francis Chapel, Makerere University, encouraged Christians to pray and read the word of God, for it is through these that relationship with god is built. She said this will also enable us to know our God-given purposes on earth. The theme “the church grounded in the word” guided the teaching.
At St Stephen Kisugu church of Uganda, Rev. Simon Peter Dembelyayesu as per the theme, “Love for the Lost” derived from the book of Luke 15:11-24, encouraged Christians to hold space for those who are lost because it is not of their own making.
