The Church of Uganda has concluded a three-day training aimed at equipping church leaders and community transformation practitioners with skills to promote financial stewardship, household transformation, and sustainable agricultural development. The training, held at Lweza Training and Conference Centre, brought together participants from the Provincial Secretariat and ten dioceses across the country. Our reporter has the details.
Twenty-five participants drawn from the Household and Community Transformation Directorate at the Provincial Secretariat and ten dioceses of the Church of Uganda have completed a three-day Training of Trainers program at Lweza Training and Conference Centre.
Held under the theme Equipping God's Stewards for His Resources, the training focused on empowering church leaders to promote responsible resource management, financial freedom, and holistic community transformation through the African Money Map initiative.
Rev. Andrew Agaba said the Church of Uganda remains committed to holistic ministry that addresses both spiritual and socio-economic needs of communities.
Thank God for His grace as the Lweza Training and Conference Centre project, which the Church of Uganda launched on March 26, has now reached the roofing stage. Our vision is to make Lweza a center of excellence and a first-class conference and training facility in Africa, and we are grateful to the archbishop for spearheading the mobilization efforts that have made this progress possible.
The program is also expected to strengthen agricultural productivity through partnerships that promote practical farming skills and stewardship of resources.
Maqhawe Mathemba Crown, a trainer and facilitator from Foundation for Farming, said the partnership seeks to establish a model demonstration farm for the Church of Uganda.
Participants described the training as timely and practical, saying it had equipped them with knowledge and tools to mobilize communities towards financial discipline, sustainable livelihoods, and improved agricultural practices.
Church leaders expressed optimism that the skills gained during the training will contribute to stronger households, self-reliant communities and sustainable socio-economic transformation across Uganda.
