Kampala, June 14, 2025 — In a bid to foster stronger community relations and promote friendly interaction, Church of Uganda’s COU Family TV is teaming up with Equity Bank Uganda for an exciting day of sports and fun. The two organizations, sharing the same home at Church House, will come together this Saturday for a lively sports event featuring soccer, netball, athletics, and a race competition.
The highlight of the event is a friendly soccer match between Equity Bank, the reigning champions of the corporate league, and COU Family TV, the Church of Uganda’s main media outlet. The match will kick off at City High School, Kololo, at 2:30 PM and promises to be a thrilling contest that showcases local talent and sportsmanship.
Apart from the soccer game, spectators will enjoy netball matches, athletic races, and a traditional sack race, with Equity Bank’s team set to face off against the reigning sack race champion, “Samspecial,” who has been undefeated since primary school.
In an interview aired on COU Family TV, the Equity Bank team expressed confidence and readiness to challenge the stronghold of COU Family TV in sports. “We’ve prepared well and are excited to face off against the best in the region,” said the bank’s team captain.
Organizers call on the general public, church members, and sports enthusiasts to come out and enjoy a day of fun, fellowship, and friendly competition all in the spirit of unity and fun in Christ!
