
Church Of Uganda Finally Clears Church House Building Equity Bank Debt Worth 60 Billion

The Church of Uganda officially owns the Church House Building after clearing the debts it owed Equity Bank worth 60 billion, with the last payment being over 9 billion.
This was announced by the Archbishop of the Church of Uganda, His Grace The Most Reverend Dr. Stephen Kazimba Mugalu, during the commemoration of Uganda Martyrs Day at Namugongo Anglican Site.
The Archbishop of the Church of Uganda, His Grace the Most Reverend Dr. Stephen Kaziimba Mugalu, during the commemoration of Uganda Martyrs Day at Namugongo Anglican Site, announced the full ownership of Church House Building after clearing the debts it owed Equity Bank worth 60 billion, with the last payment being 9 billion.

The Executive Director of Equity Bank Uganda, Elizabeth Mwerinde, applauded the Church of Uganda for the good partnership and support both parties have had in recent years.
The President of Uganda Mothers Union, Namirembe Diocese, Roseline Biingi, and Elizabeth Caroline Kikoyo, President of the Mother Union, Kampala Diocese, expressed gratitude for the Church of Uganda clearing the debts owed to Equity Bank and fully owning it, saying that they can now stand for themselves.
Besides the debt clearing, they urged Christians to continue supporting the Namugongo Martyrs Anglican Site and to remain united.
