Fathers Urged To Share Life Experiences With Their Children

Fathers Urged To Share Life Experiences With Their Children

JOHN BAPTIST
The Provincial Fathers Union President Samuel A Bakutana has called upon fathers to create a conducive environment for their children to grow into great men and women by sharing with them their life experiences.
Bakutana made the remarks as Uganda joined the rest of the world in commemorating International Father’s Day celebrated annually on the third Sunday of June.

In our interaction with individuals that have been fathered, they appreciated the big role fathers play in the social economic development of society.
Father's Day is celebrated annually on the third Sunday of June, this year, it falls on June 16 in honour of the fathers and father figures who play a significant role in the social, and economic development of society.
Though little known, the day offers the best opportunity to express gratitude to fathers worldwide.
However, the day comes at a time when fathers in Uganda and the world continue to face a number of hurdles from both environmental and economic challenges, making it difficult for them to play their fathering role effectively.

In honour of this day, COU Family TV interacted with a number of fathers including the Provincial Fathers' Union President Samuel A. Bakutana who shared their great fathering experience. He called upon fathers to open up to their children by sharing their experiences.
Bakutana explained the great roles men play and also explained the genesis of the word father saying this comes from God the father of fathers. He henceforth called upon them to be the source of everything positive such as protecting their families.
He also reminded them of their core responsibility of servanthood saying this is the core foundation of happy families.
Some of the fathers we spoke to shared their lifetime experiences, appreciating the great men who anchored their growth paths.
However, to understand from a woman's perspective, we went ahead to hear from Linda Lilian Nagujja an HR Practitioner together with Kyataire Linda. These appreciated the fathers for the seemingly few contributions.

These called for the women and children to accord due respect to their fathers and husbands knowing these are ambassadors of God in their lives.
