FDC On Agricultural Mechanization

Forum for democratic change has urged the government to invest more in the agricultural sector in order to increase agricultural mechanization which will help improve the economy of the country.

This was during the end of year address by the party president Eng Patrick Oboi Amuriat at the party headquarters.

Addressing The media at the FDC headquarters, the party President Eng. Patrick Oboi Amuriat says that in this year 2022, the country faced a huge challenge when fuel prices shot up which led to increase in fuel prices.

He further says that there is a need for the government to invest more in Agriculture than in any sector saying that it can improve the country's economy.

He also adds that there is a need for the government to look for a solution to the debt refinancing which takes the largest portion of the country's budget.

The FDC party also condemns the acts of destroying nature and environment like deforestation among others because they lead to natural calamities like famine, drought among others.

Amuriat says that these also lead to floods and landslides especially in low lying areas of the country leaving many homeless and others dead

On behalf of FDC, Amuriat says that they are to continue with their campaign dubbed greening Uganda aimed at planting more trees.

In this campaign, the FDC party has so far planted more than 500,000 trees across the country.
