FDC Takes Firm Stand On Alleged Ugx 100m Bonanza To MPs
The Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) party has taken a firm stance on the alleged bonanza given to Members of Parliament by President Museveni, demanding accountability and transparency.
The party believes that the 100 million shillings received by MPs could have negative implications for Uganda's political landscape. This has been addressed by the FDC party spokesperson, John Kikonyongo, at the headquarters.
Addressing the media today, the FDC party has raised concerns about the members of parliament who received the money from the president, implying that these will be held accountable for their actions.
This follows the president’s statement on Friday that emphasized classified funding, dismissing criticism as foreign-influenced.
FDC has cautioned its Members of Parliament that the receipt of the 100 million shillings’ bonanza may result in significant repercussions, including the risk of losing their parliamentary positions. The public's reaction to this situation will be vital in influencing the future political landscape of Uganda, which could have serious implications for the government's legitimacy.
The FDC's stance also emphasized the importance of transparency and accountability in government dealings. By demanding that its MPs return the funds, the party aims to uphold the principles of good governance and ensure that public resources are used for the benefit of all Ugandans.
