FDC Welcomes New Members In Nakawa
The Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) Party has today held a rally in Nakawa Division in Kampala in its bid to recruit new members and also promote its policy agenda.
The FDC Party President Patrick Oboi Amuriat challenged the new members to pay allegiance to the party and its activities.
At about 10:30 am, the FDC President Patrick Oboi Amuriat arrived at the Nakawa Division party offices near the Nakawa Market in the company of FDC Secretary General, Nathan Nandala Mafabi for the launch of an exercise to recruit new party members.
The FDC Chairman for Nakawa Division, Moses Okwera Mugisha, said that the rally is part of FDC’s mobilization efforts to recruit new members to the party.
Kampala Deputy Lord Mayor Doreen Nyanjura, who addressed the rally, used the chance to rally the government to do more to empower women. She dismissed allegations that FDC was a dying party that was gradually losing members to other parties and yet not recruiting others.
Tasked to answer claims that the FDC had given up on the struggle for democracy and good governance, this was the response from the party’s Secretary General, Nathan Nandala Mafabi.
The FDC party president challenged other opposition parties not to work to bring each other down but rather aim at the same target of changing governance in Uganda for the good of all.
Amuriat also condemned fights within the opposition, especially during election time.
