Fire Destroys Property Worth Millions In Fort Portal.
Properties worth millions in Kisenyi Fort Portal City have been destroyed following a fire outbreak that caught the timber stores around the area.
The fire started at noon destroying properties including cars, a motorcycle, part of the SkyView hotel building, timber stores, and local hotels in the area
According to eyewitnesses the fire allegedly started from a temporary hotel structure before spreading to timber stores and a nearby car garage.
Residents broke down a temporary Pentecostal church to create access to the garage to save cars from fire but some were already partly burnt.
The members of the demolished church also lost property including seats, speakers, and microphones to thieves.
Richard Muhumuza the central division mayor attributed the fire to the existence of temporary structures in the area.
By press time police fire rescue team was seen containing the fire with water.
