First Lady Janet Urges Women To Take On Positions Of Influence

Uganda’s first lady and Minister for Education and Sports Janet Kataha Museveni has called upon women to take on positions of influence and partner with their male counterparts.

She also urged them to embrace their purpose and God-given calling.

The first lady delivered her message while gracing the Mantle of Deborah Uganda Chapter Apostolic and Prophetic Women Conference at Kololo Independence Grounds yesterday.

The Deborah Mantle is a gathering that centres on uplifting and empowering women to conquer cunning global obstacles.

Among the attendees of this year’s Mantle of Deborah Apostolic and Prophetic Women’s conference included government officials, church leaders, civil servants, gospel artists and other dignitaries from across Africa.

Reflecting on the scriptures from the Book of Judges Chapters 4 and 5, women prayed for Uganda to transform into a wholly submissive nation drawing an account from the story of Deborah.

Officiating at the gathering, Uganda’s first lady and Minister for Education and Sports Janet Kataha Museveni challenged women to take on responsibilities of influence. She however challenged them not to compete with their male counterparts but rather partner with them.

She also committed to partnering with women in Uganda towards transforming their lives and Uganda as a whole.

At the same function, Irene Kauma, the first lady’s undersecretary, explained the reasons for holding the conference at Kololo Independence Grounds.
Different Ministers of God from across Africa shared their stories and inspired women to discover themselves beyond being housewives.
