Gen. Elwelu Urges Politicians To Prioritize Faith Over Prophecy In Election Year

In a powerful appeal for unity and peace, Lt. Gen. Peter Elwelu called on politicians from Teso and Karamoja to reject violence in politics during the recent Soroti City and District Prayer Breakfast.

Held at the Mayor's Garden, the event brought together a diverse group of leaders, including pastors, politicians, and civil servants, all committed to fostering a more harmonious political landscape ahead of the elections.

Elwelu made the remarks during the Soroti City and district Prayer Breakfast held at Soroti City Mayor’s Garden.

Among those invited were pastors from different denomination, politicians from the district and City, Civil servants both city and district among others.

Lt. Gen. Elwelu noted that politicians during this year’s campaign should maintain peace and they should not use abusive language

Gen. Elwelu advised politicians to Campaign using mature Politics.

Gen. Elwelu noted that this is the year where aspiring candidates and Politicians should be more committed to God.

He enlightened that nobody can pray for one to win elections but they should dedicate themselves to God.

Elwelu tasked Politicians not to be misled by the prophets and Pastors that they can pray for someone to win the elections.

Pastor Steven Ogan from Nigeria who led the breakfast prayers in Soroti City preached about Revival of Soroti City and district.

The visiting pastor focused his preaching on Forgiveness, Repentance and Reconciliation.

Stephen Olebe, the Speaker Soroti district observed that Politicians from Teso dislike each other adding that they work in isolation.

Clare Anyipo, the deputy RCC Soroti City East urged leaders to recollect and do evaluation for themselves.

James Chemitai, deputy RCC Soroti City West has challenged people to embrace all government development programs.

Mwesigwa, deputy City Clerk, Soroti City thanked Government of Uganda for Liberating worship in Uganda.
