Gen. Muhoozi Warns Ugandans To Avoid Practicing Land Fragmentation

Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba has advised the people of the Teso region not to divide their land into small pieces noting that agriculture cannot be sustainable on small pieces of land. This was during his visit to Teso on his country-wide tour where he was welcomed by hundreds of people.

The people and leaders of Teso turned up at Soroti City in big numbers to welcome Gen. Muhoozi who was in their city for two days.

Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba on his national tour visited the Teso region for two days and while there he urged Ugandans to shun practising land fragmentation.

Gen. Muhoozi was speaking at Soroti sports ground during his visit to Teso. Muhoozi observed that no serious Agriculture production can take place on a small piece of Land. Gen. Muhoozi noted that it is better to keep the land together in family farms rather than dividing the land.

Gen. Muhoozi noted that there is now peace in Teso after they flashed out Kony in 2003.

Gen. Muhoozi observed that the people of Teso can now enjoy peace and engage in some productive activities.

Gen. Muhoozi thanked the people of Teso for listening to the government's advice on agriculture and embracing citrus growing.

He highlighted that Teso has planted eight million fruit trees.

Gen. Muhoozi noted that according to information he had got people from Teso are greatly improving in commercial farming. They used to grow cotton and end up selling at 40,000 shillings per acre but now a person can get 12 million per acre from Oranges.

State Minister for Works and Transport, Hon Musa Francis Ecweru noted that Gen Muhoozi is a fearless man who came to Teso during the insurgency and helped the Arrow boys and girls to flash LRA rebels out of Teso. Hon Ecweru said that Muhoozi and the Arrow boys and girls were able to rescue 12 children who were abducted by LRA rebels who had camped at Adamasiko in Tubur.

MP Soroti City East, Herbert Edmund Ariko raised three issues before Gen Muhoozi. The Issues include compensation of cattle raided from Teso, Compensation of Arrow boys and girls and the issue of not having enough officials from Teso region serving in government positions
