The construction of the Blood Bank project is being implemented under the Uganda inter-governmental fiscal transfers-Ugift program with funding from the World Bank.

The Kasingo local council one chairperson Mrs. Monica Kabatooro has explained how the project came to be in the area.

The Director Hoima Regional Referral Hospital Dr. Sophie Namasopo says that Bunyoro ranks second in terms of Maternal and Infant Mortality in the Country with Mulago National Referral Hospital being in the first position.

The Executive Director of the Uganda Blood Transfusion service Dr. Dorothy Kyeyune Byabazaire has called on the contractor to ensure that he does quality work and called on area leaders to encourage blood donation.

On fears from the locals that the blood could be sold by medics, Dr. Namasopo says otherwise.
