Christians have gathered at the Holy Trinity Church of Uganda, Makerere-Kivulu, to commemorate Trinity Sunday, with church leaders calling on believers to remain anchored in Christ through faithful discipleship, unity, and sound biblical teaching. During the celebrations, Kampala Diocese also launched the 2026 Children's Bible Trivia Challenge.

Christians from Holy Trinity Church of Uganda, Makerere-Kivulu, joined the global church in commemorating Trinity Sunday, which celebrates the mystery of the Holy Trinity: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit.

The service was led by the assistant bishop of the Kampala Diocese, Rt. Rev. Jackson Frederick Baalwa, under the theme "Anchored in Christ Through Discipleship."

Preaching during the service, Bishop Baalwa urged Christians to remain steadfast in Christ, saying true discipleship is reflected through faithful living, obedience to God's Word, and unwavering commitment to Jesus Christ.

The assistant bishop emphasized that discipleship is the foundation of the Christian faith and challenged the church to intentionally nurture believers into mature followers of Christ.

He also warned Christians against false prophets and misleading teachings, urging believers to remain grounded in Scripture and develop a personal relationship with Christ.

The priest-in-charge of Holy Trinity Church, Rev. Ellon Kebirungi Mugumya, said Trinity Sunday reminds Christians of God's perfect unity and challenges believers to reflect that unity within the Church and the wider community.

She encouraged Christians to embrace love, harmony, and togetherness, drawing inspiration from the unity of the Holy Trinity.

The Head of Laity at Holy Trinity Church, Kigga Michael, highlighted achievements registered by the church over the past year, including growth in ministry, infrastructure development, and expanded outreach programs.

During the celebrations, Bishop Baalwa officially launched the 2026 Children's Bible Trivia Challenge, an initiative by Kampala Diocese aimed at strengthening biblical knowledge among children. The competition will run from 5th to 26th September 2026.

The bishop also confirmed thirteen children into the Anglican faith and encouraged them to remain steadfast in Christ while serving both the Church and their communities.

Church leaders concluded by calling on Christians to deepen their discipleship, uphold biblical truth, and promote unity, expressing confidence that continued teaching and mentorship will raise a generation firmly grounded in the Christian faith.
