Hope As Double Orphan Tops Kanungu UACE Results

Hope As Double Orphan Tops Kanungu UACE Results

In the aftermath of the recently released UACE results by the Uganda National Examination Board, several students are pondering on the next course of action, One such student is Rodgers Ansinguza, despite topping the UACE results in the Kanungu district, he is optimistic about a brighter future.

Our reporter visited and spoke to Rodgers Ansinguza, a student at Great Lakes High School Katete offering MPA/ICT.

Education in Kanungu like many hard-to-reach and stay districts in Uganda is not a privilege despite the government’s continued support of the education sector.

When our reporter in Kanungu visited Rodgers Ansinguza’s Kambuga Hospital staff quarters where he stays with her elder sister Kamusiime Monic, a midwife at that hospital he disclosed his long journey to attain education since 2000 when they lost both parents.

He says when the parents died, they were left under the care of their elder sister Kamusiime Monic who also was ten years old at that time.

Kamusiime Monic says it's been too difficult to look after her siblings especially in raising school fees for them.

She still worries about her brother’s university education while there are still other young brothers and sisters who are in school.

Rodgers wants to pursue his dream to attain a degree in architecture.
