
Janani Schools Commemorate Janani Luwum Day
Follow In The Footsteps Of The Late Archbishop Mutebi
The Retired Assistant Bishop of Kampala diocese Bishop Hannington Mutebi has argued Christians to always follow the path taken by the first Arch Bishop of Church of Uganda the Rt Rev. Janani Luwum during their walk with God so as to bring change in their lives and the nation at large.
This was during his preaching at St Janani church of Uganda Kabalagala where he led the remembrance Church service for the of Janani Luwum.
Yesterday marked 48 years ever since the first Archbishop of Uganda Rt. Rev. Janani Luwum was murdered by the then President Idi Amin. Since then, Uganda celebrates the 16th day of Feb in his remembrance.
During the service for his remembrance held at St Janani Luwum church of Uganda Kabalagala led by the Retired Assistant Bishop of Kampala Rt Rev Hannington Mutebi, he emphasized the need for Christians to emmulate and follow the path of Janan Luwum.
Mutebi said applauded Luwum as a great leader who couldn't just look on when things are going wrong and argued those who would wish to follow his path to be aware of the persecution they are likely to find along the way.
Emmanuel Mwebe the head Master st Janani secondary School Kabalagala noted that as people in the education sector they can't fail to celebrate such a day as they still follow in the footsteps of the late Luwum.
The main celebrations for this day where held in Kitgum where the main celebrant, president Museveni was represented by the Prime Minister Rt. hon. Robinah Nabanja.
