Kakumiro Health Camp - Hundreds Turn Up
Kakumiro District in Bunyoro sub-region, Mid-Western Uganda will host the 37th NRM Liberation Day national celebrations tomorrow.
Hundreds of people turned up for a health camp where free medical services were being offered. This is part of the pre-commemoration activities organized by the Office of the Prime Minister in conjunction with other partners.
Dr. Enid Mbabazi from the Prime Minister’s Delivery unit which is coordinating the health camp, says that they deemed it necessary to organize this camp to offer services that may not be available at the lower health facilities.
Asumpta Mbabazi, the Kakumiro District Assistant Health Officer appealed to all people within and outside Kakumiro district to come for the services which are free of charge.
We also spoke to some of the beneficiaries of the health who appreciated the free service.
The health camp that opened on Monday 23rd January will run until Thursday 26th January 2023 but the organizers say that whoever turns up will be attended to even if it means going beyond the set date.
The UPDF Directorate of Medical Services is offering free safe male circumcision while other partners are conducting cancer screening, blood donation, TB screening, testing for non-communicable diseases, health education, dental services, eye care services, among others.
