KAMPALA RCC Warns NRM Registrars To Refrain From Malpractice As They Update The Party Registers
Resident City Commissioner Kampala Amina Lukanga has warned the District Registrar in Kampala to refrain from acts that will spoil the Update and display of the NRM register that is commencing on Wednesday 13th Country Wide.
Hon Amina Lukanga sounded the warning while meeting the NRM Registrar in Makindye Division at Kabalagala Youths Centre.
On 28th February this year, the Chairman NRM Party and President of Uganda His Excellency Yoweri Kaguta Museveni launched the display and update of the NRM Party register at NRM Secretariat Kyadondo.
The Exercise is set to commence on 13th March 2024, which is Wednesday this week Country Wide. Different NRM stakeholders have started sensitizing registrars on how they are supposed to handle the activity.
Resident City Commissioner Kampala Amina Lukanga while attending the sensitization meeting of registrars in Makindye Division, warned all NRM registrars in Kampala not to get involved in acts that spoil the Display and update exercise to avoid severe consequences.
Lukanga said that the party wants the Update and display exercise to move on smoothly to get a better and up-to-date NRM Register.
Meanwhile, Chairman NRM Makindye Division Hussein Lukyamuzi speaking to Journalists said that they have well sensitized the registrars and other stakeholders on what they are supposed to do during the activity.
He revealed some of the requirements for NRM members who will be updating their registers and the new members who will be joining the NRM Party.
Chairman NRM Nakawa Division Nicholas Arinaitwe called upon Registrars in Nakawa to be extra careful while registering NRM Members to ensure that they register voters of NRM and not ghost members who will weaken the party.
He also urged them to be professional and exhibit high levels of integrity while doing their work.
He adds that the update and display exercise if executed properly will assist the party in winning Presidential Elections Come 2026.
