Karamoja Affairs Minister Offices Under Renovation

The chairman monitoring and evaluating committee in the UPDF  Maj. Gen Henry Matsiko has taken time to inspect works being done by the UPDF engineers brigade in the renovation of the OPM offices in the Karamoja sub-region.

The offices have been under renovation since February this year. Major Gen. Matsiko says they are scheduled to meet the 6 moth’s target.

The prime minister's offices coordinating the affairs of the Karamoja were built during the Obote era and are now dilapidated. This has been a concern for the staff whose houses have since developed cracks.

Today the UPDF engineer’s brigade inspected the progress of the construction work which is equally nearing completion.

The work to renovate these offices has been ongoing since February at a cost of Uganda shillings 700 million. Two months down the road, the UPDF engineering brigade is confident the works are on schedule. The site engineer, Lt Godfrey Kitongo told us where they are emphasizing the renovation

The visit to the works in the Karomoja sub-region continued at Moroto referral hospital where an oxygen plant was installed and according to site engineer LT Godfrey Kitongo, the project was funded with 540m for 6. It will be ready by the end of this month.

Maj. Gen Henry Mastiko, the chairman monitoring and evaluating committee urged all clients to analyze the work they give to them, especially maintenance. Maj. Gen Henry Matsiko says some jobs require clear decision-making to avoid compromising their performance.

He commended the work done by the UPDF engineer’s brigade. He says these are standards expected of the force by the public.
