The Executive Director of KCCA, Sharifah Buzeki, has promised to put more effort into programs that promote sanitation in the areas of Kawempe to ensure that they are kept clean

In this program today, there was also a health camp where trained doctors treated Ugandans for different illnesses to ensure they stay healthy and also to sensitize them about HIV.

The executive director of KCCA, Sharifa Buzeki, announced that the body has received government funds to buy 5 more garbage trucks to add to the 34 that already exist, which was a response to leaders saying that the garbage trucks are not enough.

Speaking at the cleanup campaign, the KCCA team, together with other agencies including Patriotic League Uganda from Kawempe, cleaned parts of the area under KCCA's ongoing "Weyonje" campaign, where they cleaned areas including Kilokole, Kawempe 1, and neighboring areas.

KCCA’s Buzeki also commended the area leaders for participating in this program.

However, Buzeki has warned residents who dump garbage anywhere, especially when the trucks are looking for it.

The director of public health at KCCA, Dr. Sarah Zalwango, made an announcement that next month, they will bring back sanitation competitions called "Sanitation Challenge" and urged residents to participate.

Mpiima Henry, the coordinator of the Patriotic League in Kawempe, outlined Kawempe’s problem with mosquitoes that are troubling residents, and he asked KCCA to rescue the residents. In response, Buzeki said that they are going to increase efforts in fumigating these mosquitoes.

In this program, KCCA also organized a health camp where different illnesses, including HIV, blood pressure, and others, were screened for
