KCCA Takes A Bold Step Towards Ending The Flooding Crisis In Kampala

To address the persistent issue of flooding in Kampala, the Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) has taken a decisive step towards a solution. Part of the reason for continued flooding in some areas around the city is the poor shape of drainage systems.

With the ongoing construction of an improved drainage system, the city is poised for a transformation. During an exclusive interview, Simon Kasyate, the spokesperson for KCCA urged the public to join hands and cooperate in this vital endeavour for a better, flood-free city. This marks a promising change in the face of adversity, as the city strives for a brighter future.

In a groundbreaking development, the Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) is addressing the long-standing issue of flooding in Kampala with the construction of an improved drainage system. Simon Kasyate the Spokesperson for KCCA notes that the traffic disruptions currently in the city are to pave the way for the expansion of waterways to avert a worse situation in the future.

Simon shared one of the concerns hindering the construction works which is working while business in the city is moving on where he called upon residents in the city to cooperate whenever they find construction works going on.

Kampala City Council Authority according to Simon is getting financing to run this project from both the government and other partners.

He further called upon the public to be vigilant and responsible citizens by avoiding littering waste anywhere which gets stuck in the drainage systems thereafter causes flooding.
