Kinkiizi Diocese Marks 31 Years of Faith and Transformation: Bishop Zoreka Urges Christians to Leave a Positive Legacy Through Good Deeds. Diocese Celebrates Journey of Unity, Service, And Co

The Bishop of Kinkiizi Diocese, Rt. Rev. Dan Zoreka, has called upon Christians to live lives that leave a lasting and positive legacy through service, integrity, and good deeds that will continue to impact future generations.

The bishop made the remarks during celebrations marking 31 years of Kinkiizi Diocese under the theme “Anchored in Jesus Christ for Unity, Stability, and Peace.” The celebrations were held at the African University of Science and Management Kambuga Annex in Kanungu District.

Thousands of Christians, clergy, local leaders, and guests gathered in an atmosphere of thanksgiving and celebration as Kinkiizi Diocese commemorated thirty-one years of ministry, evangelism, and community transformation.

While preaching during the anniversary service, Bishop Dan Zoreka encouraged believers to live responsibly and intentionally, noting that the true measure of life is found in the impact one leaves behind through acts of kindness, faith, and service to humanity.

The bishop further reminded Christians that every action leaves a mark on society, urging them to embrace humility, humanity, and Christ-centered living in their daily lives.

Leaders who attended the celebrations also commended the Diocese for its contribution to spiritual growth and socio-economic transformation within the region.

The Member of Parliament for Kinkiizi West, Hon. James Kaberuka, applauded the clergy for their commitment to serving communities and encouraged them not to grow weary in doing good, assuring them that their service would be rewarded by God.

Meanwhile, the Chief Guest, Mugisha Justus, who serves as Vice President of FUFA, called upon Christians to fully utilize their land productively through agriculture, emphasizing that farming remains a key pathway toward household income generation and poverty reduction.

Kinkiizi Diocese was established in 1995 with the aim of bringing church services closer to Christians in the region. Under the leadership of its first Bishop, the late Rt. Rev. John Wilson Ntegyereize, the diocese laid a strong foundation for evangelism and community development.

Over the years, the diocese has played a significant role in improving education, healthcare, agriculture, water, and sanitation in the area, efforts that have contributed greatly toward fighting poverty and improving livelihoods among communities in Kanungu and surrounding districts.

The Diocese has also been recognized for supporting the integration and empowerment of the Batwa community after their displacement from Bwindi Impenetrable National Park following its gazettement in 1990. Through church-led programs and partnerships, many Batwa families have been supported to access education, healthcare, and other social services, helping restore dignity and inclusion within society.

The anniversary celebrations began with thanksgiving prayers held on 10th May at St. Peter’s Cathedral, Nyakatare, before culminating in the grand celebrations held at the newly acquired African University of Science and Management campus in Kambuga.
