Kwania Roots For UPDF Construction Brigade To Handle All District Construction Works

The Kwaniya District Health Officer has urged the government to hand over the construction works of all government projects in the country to the UPDF construction department for quality purposes but also as a way of reducing the inflated cost of execution by other companies.

He was speaking at Kwaniya Health 3 Hospital where the UPDF committee was monitoring the work and quality of projects carried out by the department.

After President Museveni ordered the UPDF Engineering Brigade to start construction of all Government Projects especially health and education in the country, the UPDF Monitoring and Evaluation Committee visited Kwaniya District to monitor the construction of the morgue at Kwaniya Health Center as well as the maternity ward.

Col Fulgence Miyaga, the project manager for the construction of a morgue at Kwaniya Health Center 3 and a maternity ward at Nambieso Health Center 3, first visited the committee officials led by Maj Gen Henry Masiko.

He said the project for the construction of the mortuary is estimated at over 77 Ugandan million shillings.

Ora Moses, the Kwaniya District Health Officer, urged the government to hand over the construction of all government projects in the country to the UPDF for quality as well as to reduce the expenditure of the taxpayer’s money on various projects.

Maj Gen Masiko, the Chairman of the UPDF Projects Monitoring Committee, said the image of the UPDF should remain positive through performance that brings honor to the country and the people of Uganda.

Gen Masiko commended the quality of the construction sites of the UPDF Construction Brigade for the skills they display in their work.

He says President Museveni entrusted them with the task to help the government do its work, reduce taxpayer expenditure, and implement world-class projects at a low cost.
