The National Unity Platform presidential aspirant, Robert Kyagulanyi Sentamu, today continued his mobilization campaigns in Namutumba and Bugweri districts as part of his ongoing tour of the Busoga region in Eastern Uganda.
He was received by thousands of supporters. While addressing a rally in Bugweri district, Kyagulanyi expressed dissatisfaction with security operatives who recently blocked his convoy, forcing him to take a long diversion.
He went on to highlight challenges facing the region, including the closure of Busoga University, which was recently handed over to the government. Kyagulanyi stressed that education, when prioritized, is a powerful tool for development.
The NUP leader further outlined services he says Ugandans will enjoy if entrusted with power. These include inclusivity in public offices, which he argued have for long been dominated by a few tribes, leaving others sidelined.
Among those who welcomed Kyagulanyi’s caravan in Bugweri was Mercy Walukamba, an aspirant for the district woman Member of Parliament seat. She expressed confidence that NUP will secure overwhelming support in Bugweri.
