Kyegegwa - Nyakabiso bridge washed away by water
Residents and leaders of Kyegegwa district especially in Kyaka North Constituency are disappointed with the contractor working on Kakabara- Hapuuyo -Nabingola road for doing a shoddy work that has resulted into the destruction of Nyakabiso Bridge.
Kyegegwa district being one of the districts that host refugees, got 1.9B shillings from World Bank under DRDIP to work on Kakabara -Hapuuyo- Nabingola road but according to the leaders and locals the contractor is doing a shoddy work.
It is remembered that in September 2021 the Prime Minister Hon. Robinnah Nabanja came to inspect this very road after Kyegegwa leaders made an alarm about the quality of work that was being done.
As of now, Vehicles cannot pass on the bridge, and pedestrians walk on the logs put by the locals at a fee.
John Kisoke Byamukama LC5 Kyegegwa says this road is still in the hands of the contractor under PEKASA Ltd.
George Sande the contractor says people should not blame him but rather they blame the rains.
This road was supposed to be finished in September last year but till now it's not yet over.
