Local Govt Ministry Embarks On Investigating Kabale Central Market Mess
Canon Jack Katarishagwa, the chairperson for lock up owners says some vendors were allocated more than one lock up on account that the second one was purchased from someone who didn’t want to be in the market anylonger.
Many say the municipal leadership never publicly published a list of all people with lockups in the market which has caused chaos. Kabale municipal mayor Emmanuel Sentaro Byamugisha, has accused the vendors of witch-hunt.
The minister for local government Hon. Raphael Magyezi who visited the market set up a special committee headed by the RDC Godfrey Nyakahuma to carry out thorough verification of all vendors, investigation and allocation especially of lock ups.
The new Kabale central market started operating on 10 January 2023.
