Makerere University Celebrates 75th Graduation Ceremony

Graduands of the 75th cohort at Makerere university have been advised to take advantage of the open opportunities presented to them after school as well as create entrepreneurial ideas. This was addressed during the 75th Graduation Ceremony where a total of 3658 graduated with PHDs, Master’s Degrees, Bachelor’s Degrees and Post Graduate Diplomas.

Makerere University today celebrated its 75th Graduation Ceremony where a total of 3658 graduands were awarded with PHDs, Masters Degrees, Bachelor’s Degrees and Post Graduate Diplomas.


According to Proff. Barnabas Nawangwe,the Vice Chancellor of Makerere University, unemployment is a major problem in the country leaving many graduates jobless thus advising granduands to elevate their creative minds and venture into businesses that can help them and also refrain from corruption.

He also appreciated the government for resolving the issues of salary inequality that had arisen in the previous year stating that staff members will be paid duly.

On the other hand, Dr. Crispus Kiyonga, the Chancellor of Makerere University, appreciated the government for its financial support and infrastructural development in the university and cited need for the construction of an agro-industrial park for the purposes of learning and improving the agricultural system in the country.


Representing the Minister of Education and Sports as the guest of honor, Hon. Dr. Joyce Kaducu in a letter by Janet Museveni appreciated parents, guardians and sponsors for their support. She also appreciated the university management for their dedication and commitment despite the challenges faced and encouraged them to remain focused.
